20 years old, bigger and stronger than ever

I'm a 20-year-old whose Dad was being trained by Francois Tort. I tagged along one day about 4 months ago because I was interested in becoming a personal trainer. I started training with Francois as his apprentice immediately after our first meeting.
I've always stayed really lean and always had trouble putting on size. The most I've ever weighed before this was 185 pounds. In 4 months I went from 180 pounds to 205 pounds and my strength gains have drastically increased.
Francois focuses so much on proper form, proper breathing, basically everything that most people (including myself) don't take seriously. Using all these tools that Francois has provided me with, I have completely demolished all my goals for this year.
I honestly never thought I'd be able to break that 200 lb. mark, and I definitely didn't think I could break it in such a short amount of time. Francois has such a good understanding of each person's individual goals and designs his workouts for each individual person.
I've had two family members train with him as well and both of them saw unbelievable results. I get to shadow Francois when he trains other clients as well and everyone has a great time during their workouts.

Having a Personal Trainer Exceeded All of My Expectations

Francois exceeded all of my expectations about having a personal trainer. When I first began working with him, I was very skeptical about working with a personal trainer. As a middle aged woman, I was unsure how comfortable I would feel working with a young man while training. After much time and thought, I decided to give Francois a try for a month. I was so pleased with his professionalism and with the results that I was finding that I decided to keep working with him three times a week for an entire year.
Before working with Francois, my doctor diagnosed me with Bursitis. I received three cortisone shots into my hip and one shot into my back for this diagnosis. I was scheduled to receive another shot in my back later. Because of Francois's work, I was able to cancel my appointment to receive this shot. Francois helped my Bursitis more than any shot ever has, and I am thankful to him for all that he did for me and my health.
Francois is consistently encouraging and dedicated, a fact that he proved throughout every session that I had with him over the year we worked together. His personality is always enjoyable and his professionalism is continuously present. I am so thankful for the time that I shared with Francois and would recommend him to anyone!

Personal Training Brought Me Back to Life

"I must take a few minutes to tell you my thoughts about our training sessions that brought me back to life. It is long overdue!
After several, less than successful, lower back operations that left me feeling crippled and racked with constant pain, all over. I was becoming “hooked” on an assortment of pain pills and not feeling any better. I was at my wits end and becoming desperate to find some way of getting back to normal activities.
I don’t know what prompted me to make use of my senior citizens Silver Sneakers membership available at the Apollo Beach Tennis & Racquet Club. I was not in any mood to exercise or even walk around anymore than I needed to, so it must be providence that led me to the Racquet Club.
By accident, or was it providence, that I met you in the parking lot when we were both walking in to the Club. In my Brooklyn accent I jokingly asked “How can I get to look like you?” You told me that you were a personal trainer and while you could not promise that I would look like you, you promised to rid me of all my pain, restore my strength, durability and ability to walk unassisted, and also to reduce or eliminate the use of most of my medications.
Francois, as you know I am 78 years old and I thought that this might not be possible for someone my age, and in poor physical health. My husband met with you and he was also impressed with your plans for me. So we began your training program specifically designed for our needs and capabilities.
We started very slowly due to my poor physical condition but each session you increased the challenge and within a month I had stopped all of my pain medication and was becoming more and more able to perform physical exercises and normal activity. The improvements in my physical ability were remarkable, especially for someone my age. I could feel my strength returning. The gray panther from Brooklyn was coming back to life. How wonderful to feel good again!
Francois, please accept my sincere thanks and congratulations on devising a program to improve strength and durability and having the commitment to suffer through my inabilities and crankiness to achieve your goal of vastly improved physical ability in me."

"I’ve always been interested in working with a fitness trainer, but I never seemed to have the time to do the research to find the right person. However after becoming a new mom and turning forty, it became more of a priority.
I realized I had the option to spend money on a plastic surgeon to return my body to pre-baby status or on a trainer. Obviously, the benefits of a trainer are far superior to that of surgery. To list a few, I have increased strength and stamina to keep up with my small child, no scars or recovery period, and a lifestyle change that would benefit me for the rest of my life.
From my first meeting with Francois Tort, I felt very comfortable with him. We discussed my goals, and he laid out a customized diet and exercise plan that would help me be successful. The great thing about the diet was that it was really just sensible eating, less time between meals, and portion control. Nothing was off limits – not even alcohol. He was even willing to work around my schedule, which was to meet at 6 am. This way I was able to be back home before my son was out of bed.
I especially like that Francois understands how to train women. I was definitely not looking to “bulk up” nor have a huge muscular chest, arms, and thighs, like you see on the cover of some weight lifting magazines. Instead, he has worked with me to have muscle definition and lean muscle mass.
In the six months that I have been training with Francois, I have lost 21 pounds – going from a size 10 to a size 4! I weigh less now than I did before I was pregnant. My waist alone has decreased by 7 inches. I have more energy and strength, which is good because my small baby is now a 14 month old toddler.
On top of everything else, I enjoy training with Francois. He has a great personality, and I actually have fun during our sessions."

Great Boost in Your Workout

If you’re looking for a great boost in your workout along with core strengthening techniques, fitness professional Francois Tort is definitely the trainer you’re looking for. Regardless of the level at which you are currently training, believe me when I say, “You do need a trainer.” Francois will help create a program that will give you exactly what you need. I went to him when my lower back routine had grown stagnant and I wasn’t seeing any development. What I was seeing was more back pain.
After more than 10 years of back pain and thousands of dollars spent on doctors, medication and chiropractors, all it took was one month’s time with this guy. I always strained my lower back when working out and never understood why. With what I was doing on my own, I always ended up seeing doctors or taking pain relievers. Francois explained what I was doing wrong and taught me exercises that made a lot of sense, stretches designed to alleviate my back pain, proper breathing technique and correct training posture. He helped me strengthen my core and improve my overall strength and musculature by teaching me full body strength derived from the center (aka the core). This helped me gain strength and lean muscle where I wanted and needed it.
Three months later, with much discipline and a healthy eating routine, as I continue to practice what Francois has taught me along with my regular workout routines, I’ve gained results that I couldn’t achieve before. I’ve minimized the back pain and fully expect to eventually eliminate it as I am continuing to strengthen my core/mid section and overall physical health. I’ve also dropped and additional 15lbs of fat and gained lean muscle mass and definition.
Francois, I want to thank you for all you have done. Furthermore, the flexible hours were great which made it easy to get a workout in even if my schedule was hectic. You are definitely the real deal and I will recommend you to any one of my friends or colleagues considering a trainer.
I am very appreciative of the fact that even though my training period was for a very short while, you still scheduled me in and helped me work towards bettering my lower back and overall health. "I have been around the world and have worked with many personal trainers and never met someone as knowledgeable as Francois. We discussed what I wanted to accomplish which included reducing body fat, gaining lean body mass, tightening, firming and defining my body. Francois watches my form and corrects me when needed. Unfortunately, none of them were a fix. Although each of them temporarily helped, I quickly came to believe that none of them were going to fix me.

My name is Meredith. I have been living with chronic back pain for more than 20 years. I have had injections and even surgery to try and deal with the pain. Recently, I began working out at a gym. I started on the treadmill because I figured it was safe for my back. One day, Francois asked me “When are you going to come over to this side?” “This side” was where the weights were. I was always scared to try weights because I didn’t know if I would accidentally hurt my back. Francois was very thorough. He considered my medical history and my apprehensions and he came up with a routine for me. He was patient and showed me how to do every move correctly. I LOVED my routine! I was always so bored doing only cardio. I didn’t realize how limiting my life had become. I was dependant on pills to manage my pain. Since I have been working out with the routine Francois taught me, I have reduced my medication from 3000 milligrams per day to 1100 milligrams per day -and I am still weaning myself off them! I had not been able to pick up my children for a year. I couldn’t do dishes or the laundry. You might think that is a good thing but it is depressing when you cannot physically do something. I am seeing the results of working out with Francois too! I just had my monthly weigh in and measuring. I lost pounds and inches and body fat. I can tell a difference in my clothes. I feel stronger and have been able to take on household chores. I can even pick up my kids without fear of my back going out! Honestly, working out without fear has restored my confidence. I want to take on more things, both in the gym and out. Seeing what I had accomplished, Francois gave me suggestions on how to move to the next level and push myself even more. Mid-50s with 20 extra lbs
May, 2011. OK, so here's an update. While working out with Francois I have dropped 22 lbs. (over my expectations), reduced my waist by 4-1/2 inches . . . yes, 4-1/2 inches. I've put on an inch on my shoulders and have abs and arms that make me proud to put on a bathing suit. Not bad for a woman in her mid-50's. It just goes to show you that a talented, credentialed personal trainer can change your life. Here's what I wrote originally: So, I'm a fifty-something woman who has spent the last ten years either in front of a computer in a little cubicle, or on the couch annoyed that I had to stretch to reach the remote. The sum total of my workout regime was walking through the mall. The heaviest weight I picked up was a piece of luggage.At the beginning of the year I started working out with Francois three times a week. I thought he'd take it easy on me because I'm a lot older than almost everyone in the gym.Well, that is a wrong assumption. He doesn't even need to tell you he's an ex-Marine, it's obvious in his drill sergeant barking of orders. But the things that separate Francois from other trainers in the gym are really apparent.The first thing he does is put me on the treadmill (I dreaded walking) and has me control the speed. He talks to me during the walk and explains to me what we are trying to accomplish. He explains it in very technical terms, yet with such great everyday examples, I totally understand what he is talking about. The time on the treadmill seems to take only a couple of minutes because, as I am walking, he is educating me.While the other trainers in the gym use all the static machines, he works with free weights and different methods to address everyday situations. He'd have to explain it to you in the more technical terms, but it boils down to building up the muscles you use everyday, like the muscles you need to pull down a box off a high shelf.He is the most inspiring trainer I've ever met. He makes me feel like all things health-wise are within my grasp. Rather than berating, he celebrates my improvements and forgives my shortcomings. He trains me in a very safe, yet effective manner.After my very first weigh-in, my family and friends could not believe the change in me. Not just in the changes of my body weight and muscles (which were unbelievable), but also in my mental changes. I can do anything now! He shows me precisely how to do each and every exercise, using the perfect form. When I do an exercise incorrectly, he has been so patient in showing it to me over and over; even teaching me how to breathe through each exercise. In a short few months, I've lost almost 20 lbs., dropped 2 pant sizes, lost inches off my waist, put inches on my shoulders and biceps, and am stronger than I ever thought I could be! I love every workout (even the ones that kill!) because Francois mixes an incredible amount of knowledge with a great sense of humor and a bounty of patience!Now if a fifty-something woman can work out, I challenge you to train with Francois! You'll find it amazing and inspiring.

"I have to admit that when I first started training with Francois, I didn’t expect to get the results I wanted because I knew it would be hard and I was worried Francois knew how to train men better than women. "I selected Francois Tort because of his qualifications and multi-certifications. I have stayed with him because of the amazing results I'm getting. He served in the Marines, has a 4 year degree, has advanced training and multiple certifications. His training is science-based. That is exactly what everyone wants and needs. My goals were to get stronger without getting hurt -- to get bigger and smaller in all the right places. The gym can be an intimidating place, especially the free weights and cages. This is where Francois keeps me 100% of the time. He teaches me that it's all about form. As time, the amount of weight I'm working with gets more and more. By the end of the month I've finally gotten down the routine. Then Francois gives me a fresh, new routine the next month with different exercises and different reps.
